Shredded Pork Chili

Now, I admit that cooking is not really my strong point...i'm more of an organizer, cleaner or decorator. BUT, for the sake of table decor for our wedding bash - I must cook with El Pato - (mexican tomato sauce).
Since we had about a pound of shredded pork leftover from a barbecue we went to last weekend, I decided to google "pulled pork and El Pato recipe". Hence the following:

Shredded Pork Chili

Ingredients:
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 - 7 3/4 oz. can El Pato Hot Mexican Tomato Sauce
1 - 7 3/4 oz. can El Pato Salsa de Jalepeno
1 - 15oz can Chili beans (we used Bush's mild chili beans)
1 - 15oz can black beans (rinsed) (Bush's as well)
1tsp. Mexican oregano (we used Cilantro)
Cooked shredded pork
1 - 15oz can petite diced tomatoes in rich sauce (opted this out --- Carlos hates tomatoes!)
Directions
1. Start with sauteing the onions in a little olive oil
2. Add El Pato, tomatoes, beans and oregano
3. Add shredded pork
4. Stir, bring to simmer, cover, stirring occasionally - keep on stove till ready to eat.

We had the chili over yellow rice which is a Carlos and Wendy favorite (thanks to Aunt Lillian's Salsa Chicken recipe)
And of course, I topped mine with ranch dressing. Delicious and super easy...basically the only way I cook! Well, at least the super easy part.

Day 11- A picture of something you can’t stand.

I can't stand creepy guys in the back of pictures! I mean...sometimes it can be mildly humorous if you aren't expecting it...but overall, I can't stand it.

Day 10: A picture of the person you do the silliest things with.

My coworkers! Kacy, Shelcie, Tara, Holly, Chelsea, & Jill. In the salon on a Tuesday or a weekend hairshow, when we get together, we always have a good time. Well, I mean, we have our moments but when we are all in a good mood...we have some silly moments. These girls truly hold a special place in my heart and I hate to leave them! :(

Day 9- A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.

Daddy! (& Mommy too)
"He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it. -Clarence Kelland

Anytime I needed something they were there..and are still always there. When I need advice, they have it...and they are normally right. (Shit, I knew I would end up saying that one day.) They are just great, great, parents and they have always been my help along the way. Thanks Mom and Dad! :)

P.S. This better get me brownie points...

Day 8: A picture that makes you laugh.

Ohhh man. Every time I go to Five guy burgers I think of this moment. Now, the challenge says, "A picture that makes you laugh." So although you may not find humor in this picture, I do! :)
Back Story: We wanted some hangover food to nurse our slowly detoxifying bodies. Went to Five Guys @ Lindberg Station. Made an index card for the index card board. Card said, "Five Guys...So Sexual. Parrish & Mayberry ATL. The next time we went to Five Guys...like a week later (yeah we had an addiction problem) and some nerdy artsy kids were hating on our card. We happened to hear them and immediately started peeing our pants.
Backstory to the backstory: So Sexual was taken from Nichole Richie and Paris Hilton's show, The Simple Life. Katie and I said it constantly.

Polaroids are fun.

Yes I do enjoy a good picture, but a good picture in polaroid format is always more fun. Well, POLADROID is a FREE - (but taking donations)- desktop app that allows you to take any picture saved onto your computer and change it to polaroid format. Kinda fun, thought I would share! :)

(It just didn't seem right to polaroid a polaroid)

Day 6: A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.

OK, I know my cute cuddly kitty is not a person...but dang would I love to relax the way she does. This lazy ass's name is Erie, named after the street I lived on at the time.
I mean...really? Does she have a care in the world? I doubt it...I really doubt it. Carlos has jokingly (but probably seriously) talked of leaving her behind when we move to Austin & LITERALLY saw a major break down. Never had the argument again. But anyhow, this picture says it all and I couldn't write on and on about her if I wanted to because, she does not do much more than this. :)
I would love love love to just sleep, eat, and potty all day long. Don't remember the last time I have been able to do that. Womppp Wompppp.

Day 5: A picture of a favorite memory

A.) I have not had internet for 2 weeks sooo I was slackin on the blog. Tried the whole uploading via iphone but that did not pan out so well.

B.) This is a great memory. The night Katie Cammisa, (formerly Katie Parrish), became my BFFL. I have literally never laughed so much in my entire life... definitely the best two years thus far. She introduced me to Vis-A-Vis, Forever 21, sandwiches on the George Foreman, and AMAZING MUSIC. This list could go on and on but I have lots of laundry to do and only so much time on my hands here people. I owe most of my favorite music to her, and probably a lot of that is stemmed from her hubby Ryan. (Props to Ryan)
